Alright, I brought this idea of Becky's up last meeting and it was unanimously voted on to be put into the works. It's still in a raw conceptual phase but I think I could set this up to start as soon as Saturday based on feedback. This being Becky's idea I let her design it.

"Players who wish to join will be assigned a random number to be pulled out by a random number generator to match them up with another player/players depending on how many tournament members there are. Each player will play a game of Deal or No Deal in order to gain any amount of money between $0.01 and $1,000,000, of which the winnings will be used in an optional game of poker to earn more money. Poker will end when just 2 players remain within the pool, but the TTT Knockout Tournament will be continuing throughout. If there's enough players a round robin style of knockout will take effect, otherwise a single elimination style will be used. At the start of a map players within the group will be informed that the map will count towards the tournament, and the player with the higher score will earn more points/advance to the next round depending on how far into the tournament one goes. Alternatively, a player can spend $50,000 to choose the map they wish to play on for their round, or if multiple players wish to buy out maps for the round both maps will be played with either person winning both or losing both. If each player wins a map then a sudden death round of checkers/battleship or similar game will decide the winner.

The player in 3rd place will win a point amount of the remaining money they have divided by 100. The player who finishes second in the tournament will win 15k points, and the player in first...depending on what can be figured out, will win a steam game (of most likely $10 or less value if this becomes a normal thing lol)."

Thoughts on the idea? I know it's confusing but all I did was spend 20 minutes editing Becky text into normal text form and her mind just goes on a tangent of thoughts. Probably not as detailed as you'd all hope for but just curious to see everyone's thoughts on this style setup for a tournament that is mainly reward based for TTT but offers some outside chance factors that can help out players who probably are not as skilled as others.

Alright, since people are showing interest in this both on the forums and in game I started the behind the scenes of it all. Just finished up creating an algorithm for group placement which members will be added to first come first serve. For this being a sort of trial type of tournament I’m just going to leave it at a max player cap of 18 for now. This will be broken down into 6 groups of 3, with 2 players from each group advancing to the knockout rounds. I’ll make a temporary list of groups here for now and update it as more players sign up for the tournament. I’ll probably start with the background games ahead of time since they won’t affect the gameplay all that much for now.
