Sorry I'm a little late to this HUD talk, as much as I like customisation, I feel our HUD is fine as it is, I like the simple, yet informative, way it's laid out, so yeah I think we should keep the standard one.

Can we go over what sprays are okay and what is not? There are several that I would be against, yet are okayed be other staff.

Rule 12. No gross or sugestive sprays. Admins decide wether or not this is the case.

As of right now, hardly anyone actually follows this. Yes, we don't allow porn, but unless the rule is changed we are not allowed to have suggestive sprays either.

I feel as if you guys don't understand what the hud switcher is. What it does is it allows individual playes to decide what hud they want. So lets say you guys like the defult hud, then by all means you can use that your self but at the same time it allows someone else to play with a diferent hud. Personaly I think its right up your guys alley because it adds customization ONLY if a player wants it.

Again, like Xera said, it seems like we're adding things just to add them. There really is no point to it other than self-convenience. We've had the same HUD(with a tad bit of variation) for AFAIK since the server first came up. If it's worked this well now, it just seems pointless to have 20 other HUD's for people to choose from. Further distancing the connection and cohesion people have.

First off, for the HUD issue. Prof and Xera pretty much said my opinion on it. It's fine as it is, and it'll only invoke more requests for further customization. Plus things are only being added just cause.

Only other thing to add to that is the sheer amount of bonus menus we have, not to mention when you think about it, nearly every function key is used up already because of it. F1 & 2 are taken by default. 3 is the jukebox. 4 is the pointshop. 5 & 12 are defaults for Screenshots, 6 is the rapsheets, 7 is the taunt, 8 is the new logs, 9 is bound to quick load, and 10 is a spare to open the console. Not to mention there's already a plan under works for ANOTHER menu to be added, which would probably go under 11. Unless you want to code over 9 or 10, which I would prefer not since 10 is useful and if 9 gets bugged in any way it will literally dc you from the server by default, there is no reasonable way to actually access the function.

The only other way to access this would be either to bind it to a random key, which isn't fair considering some players already have half of their actual keyboard space bound to custom things, and we shouldn't force them to work around their own prefered bind because we have too many.

Or we could to a chat command, but no one likes those. I remember pretty much every staff I talked to was so happy when they figured out that they could bind ulx menu in the console so they don't have to use the !menu command anymore. Also there's the fact that it'd be bad to rely on guests starting to learn chat commands just to use server features. And don't say that "well it's just one more menu, what's the point?" because at the rate we've been going at, they're going to stack up fast, just like everything else.


Also, just to touch on the randomized weapon addon. From a personal standpoint, I'd love it if it weren't for the menus, which would be annoying. I just love the idea of never getting the same gun twice, it'd keep everything interesting, rather than the same person going after the same gun on the same map then doing the same procedure every time. If you actually notice, I purposely almost never switch out my weapons anymore, because it's more interesting when you force yourself to stick with the first guns you happened to find.

However, from a server standpoint, it's pretty much like everything else. It'd be a bit too much customization, as well as I understand that a lot of people would probably just get annoyed with the non consistency of it all. Not to mention it'd be more luck based since it'd be possible for someone to get a different gun every time, and every time they get stuck with the horrible version of that said gun. Almost as bad as getting slain 8/11 times when you roll the dice on JB, then the two other times you get ignited (coughcoughEMPcough).


*Also* Just in case people were wondering, the menus shown for the weapon mod is actually a separate addon called the "Hover Stats" addon, the creator just had it active to help show the stats in game.

Hey, I'd like to take the time to remind you all that whatever gets added to the pointshop on TTT also gets added to the pointshop on Jailbreak. Please be considerate with what you accept and how much you add, because longer download times push people away

Could we get a pair of wings that allow people to glide from some places? And if they get hit by a discomb or a newton launcher then that stops the person from gliding any more and makes them drop to the ground.
