So I'm playing the game noticing that commands are taking VERY long to answer.

Was this yesterday? If so, I was world editing a large amount of blocks which caused a lot of lag for a minute or two.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Otherwise, check things in your video settings options in Minecraft to see if you can reduce the lag. Rainfall may also cause lag momentarily:
