Since you are clearly not understanding, quoting from Wikipedia: Warning: Spoiler! In linguistics, a homonym is, in the strict sense, one of a group of words that share the same spelling and the same pronunciation but have different meanings.[1] Thus homonyms are simultaneously homographs (words that share the same spelling, irrespective of their pronunciation) and homophones (words that share the same pronunciation, irrespective of their spelling). The state of being a homonym is called homonymy. Examples of homonyms are the pair stalk (part of a plant) and stalk (follow/harass a person) and the pair left (opposite of right) and left (past tense of leave). A distinction is sometimes made between "true" homonyms, which are unrelated in origin, such as skate (glide on ice) and skate (the fish), and polysemous homonyms, or polysemes, which have a shared origin, such as mouth (of a river) and mouth (of an animal).[2][3] Any decent dictionary will prove that I am - indeed - right and that you have clearly misunderstood. Warning: Spoiler! Signature, noun sig·na·ture noun \ˈsig-nə-ˌchu̇r, -chər, -ˌtyu̇r, -ˌtu̇r\ Definition of SIGNATURE 1 a : the act of signing one's name to something b : the name of a person written with his or her own hand 2 : a feature in the appearance or qualities of a natural object formerly held to indicate its utility in medicine 3 a : a letter or figure placed usually at the bottom of the first page on each sheet of printed pages (as of a book) as a direction to the binder in arranging and gathering the sheets b : one unit of a book comprising a group of printed sheets that are folded and stitched together 4 a : key signature b : time signature 5 : the part of a medical prescription that contains the directions to the patient 6 : something (as a tune, style, or logo) that serves to set apart or identify; also : a characteristic mark 7 : fingerprint 2 See signature defined for English-language learners » Examples of SIGNATURE There is a place for your signature at the bottom of the form. If we can collect 200,000 signatures on our petition, then our candidate will be included on the ballot. We presented the document to the president for her signature. The bill passed and went to the governor for signature a week ago. |

If you mean a specific type of signature, such as 'little pieces of art work made in photoshop', you probably should mention the specification separately? The word itself - still - being a homonym, you clearly have at least 2 signatures. (Seeing as you clearly didn't read the definition of the word.) You have the signature you sign receipts etc. with, and the one on this forum - for example - which might include anything, text, picture and so on. Sort of hard to debate if you aren't even reading my posts? |
