Both Chute and I sadly have real lives. We work and go to school and then when we come home we have about a thousand other things that need dealing with. Fair enough.. Every other major project we have planned is on hold until the reboot is finished. Because I saw you ask Ella the summer of ZARP update was not what I would call a "big" update. It was mainly bug fixes with only a handful of new features, it took less then a week for Chute to code them. how is this a "minor update" Warning: Spoiler! Morgan wrote: [center]As all of you are aware, the SSRP servers today were updated! With the coming of the Summer of ZARP update, there a lot of questions on what's new, so hopefully this will help you all out. New Craftable Items! Warning: Spoiler! There are several new items, and a classic but is now craftable! Nerve Gas (5 Units), Nitro Glycerine, and the Gluon Gun as you can see are brand new! Also the Nuclear Launch is a craftable! Gems Warning: Spoiler! With the edition of the update, we've added a new currency Gems! This will be used throughout the update. You can get gems by left clicking all items in your inventory, besides cases, and convert them into gems with a click of a button! Wheel Of ZARP! Warning: Spoiler! The wheel of ZARP is how you're going to get the new steam games from the giveaway, there are over 100. You can read more here To spin the wheel, you'll need 10,000 gems. You can win a Blueprint, Steam, and Weapons case, as well as money $500,000 or $1,000,000, You can also win the jackpot, which will give you everything on the wheel. The Steam Cases Warning: Spoiler! Along with the update, we've added a new case! The Steam case works the same as any other case, but all things are replaced with GAMES! Once your game is chosen from the case, a screenshot will automatically be taken and put in your Garry's Mod Steam screenshots folder, and you'll get your code in game. Holstering and Dropping Special Weapons! Warning: Spoiler! As many of you know, before this update when you /holster or /drop a craft-able item, it would say it would drop in chat in 60 seconds and 30 seconds, now with the new update, similar to crafting, a small blue progress bar appears at the top of your screen! Map Changes Warning: Spoiler! With the new Map, there were changes to the map! A nice shrine to the man himself, EMP, a Owner and Developer for ZARP. New Mine update, there is now lighting in the mines, so you don't accidentally kill someone with your pickaxe. There was also a new vent added to the vault! Nuclear Launch Warning: Spoiler! Nuclear Launches, destroy everything. They take 15 minutes to destroy everything, but there's a 40 minute cooldown on these. You can deactivate these by pressing E on them, or destroy them by shooting it twice. If you're a cop and deactivate or destroy it, you'll receive $150,000! Once launched, you'll receive 1 Super Charged uranium, you'll need this to make certain craftables, or character upgrades. Character Upgrades Warning: Spoiler! Character Upgrades, will benefit your character, giving you Health Regeneration, Unlimited Fuel, Ammo Boost, or the Scope Boost. Lottery Fix Warning: Spoiler! Helper NPC Warning: Spoiler! There were countless bug fixes, which I'm sure you'll all notice in game! BUT WAIT! THERE"S MORE! If that zarp update took less then a week to code for only chute, How does it take THREE years for 2 people to do it? |

Jochs wrote: Excuse me? I don't think you exactly have any grounds to say something like that here considering you've never actively dedicated yourself to this community unlike the ones that have over the last 7 years. That doesn't make sense at all. Just because you've been here a substantially longer time than me, that doesn't change the fact at all that they want to submit a polished update, not a half assed one they spent half the time on just because people are posting about it on the forums. Owners of both communities (ZARP and FP) have busy schedules, and when they get home they put in a lot of effort towards both communities. He's trying to say we've been promised stuff like the site update for years, and from what we've been told, it was close to being done and it was being worked on. Not trying to join, i just want to watch |

Out of curiosity, what happened? When news of the update first came out, the given estimate was less than a month until release. Obviously you had to be close to finishing to feel comfortable to tell everyone that something that big would be coming so soon. Now it's a year later, and all you're saying is to wait, it'll happen eventually. So where you just bluffing your way through from the beginning to raise hype for darkrp, or was the update you had ready not good enough, or did Zarp just take precedence? I mean, looking through the reboot page I wouldn't be surprised to find out that a good chunk of the "new features" were already completed, or at least had a good portion of the code was, months before they were posted here, such as the new emblem feature or the taunts. So just what happened?

Unfortunately we initially underestimated the time need to complete all we wanted for the update. There was a pause in development when Chute left due to his work. There are allot of things that are not showcased, backend stuff and minor features. Im not going to lie its not as if we have spent every waking second of every waking day working on the update. As I've already stated there are countless other things that we have to deal with. Not to mention on top of what time we volunteer here, we still have real lives. All of these factors unfortunately lead to a slower development rate. I don't want to promise any specific dates, but the update is nearing completion.
