Recently the new update for Windows 8, Windows 8.1, has been released. I made the BIGGEST mistake of getting it installed. After the install completed, I logged in only to see that my desktop was black with zero icons and only a windows logo to open the start menu. All the boxes on the start menu were blank too. I wasn't even able to shut down my computer, so I had to kill the power via the switch on the power supply. I restarted my computer and I come on to the screen of Windows 8 where it shows the date and time as well as internet connectivity. Normally from there, you would push any key on the keyboard to open up the login screen. It would not let me. I tried a different keyboard with no avail. There was a couple of things I tried and I have had no luck. I will try to come on JB on my iMac, but I am not sure how well it will hold up.

Your windows might be defective cause I have 8.1 working fine
