Apparenly it was going to end on 06/06/06 but it never did also the LHD was supposed to the end the world by collding protons and forming a black-hole many of these scientists beleive that it did make black-holes this will only happen if the LHD is opened but they will not develop until many decades/milleniums so basically they dont know, it was to anwser so many questions and will apparently unlock new power sources and cures for diseases etc.
